Nazaré Half Marathon
Portugal’s first half marathon has been run along the Nazaré seafront since 1975, every year in November.

The “mother of half marathons”: November
The Nazaré Half Marathon has been held since 1975. It was the first in Portugal and is therefore one of the most popular and charismatic races in Portuguese athletics, which earned it the nickname “Mother of Half Marathons”.
The Nazaré seafront is still the main stage and also hosts two other races: the Volta à Nazaré (10 km) and a 5 km walk.
If you are a running enthusiast and want to take part in the race where half marathons began in Portugal, November is the time to head to Nazaré.
Guided tour
A local guide takes you to the Sítio, the São Miguel Arcanjo Fort and the town’s traditions, with the stories you will not find in guidebooks.
