Jazz in the West: April and May
Valado dos Frades is part of the Nazaré municipality and for almost two decades has been one of the places that promotes jazz in the West region, with a focus on new musicians who do not yet have access to other festivals.
The Valado dos Frades Jazz Festival is therefore a launch pad for new jazz musicians and an important way for audiences to discover what is new in jazz, although well-known names of the genre also appear on the line-up.
Organised by the Biblioteca de Instrução e Recreio de Valado dos Frades, it is the oldest jazz festival in the district.
The festival is supported by the Directorate-General for the Arts, a sign of its quality and importance.
